the youth run that kicks off the RUN weekend!
The Oldenburger Fritom LutjeRUN is the moment when the youngest runners shine during RUN Winschoten. Since 2019, this youth run has taken place on Friday evening, with the AV Aquilo athletics track as the central venue since 2023. In 2025, around 400 young athletes were already at the start, and in the anniversary year 2026 we expect another enthusiastic field of participants!
The LutjeRUN is made possible by main sponsor Oldenburger Fritom. It is an accessible and energetic event where fun, sportsmanship and healthy effort take centre stage. Whether your child is taking part for the first time or has run before: everyone aged 4 and up is welcome!

Afstanden en categorieën
Kinderen lopen in leeftijdsgroepen, zodat iedereen op eigen leeftijd en niveau mee kan doen.
Recreatieloop - 0,4 km
Voor jongens en meisjes van 4 t/m 6 jaar. Dit is de ideale instapafstand voor kinderen die hun eerste loopervaring willen opdoen.
Wedstrijdloop - 1 km
Voor jongens en meisjes in de categorieën:
- 7 jaar
- 8 jaar
- 9-10 jaar
- 11-12 jaar
Een mooie afstand voor kinderen die al wat vaker lopen en graag een eigen tijd willen neerzetten.
Wedstrijdloop - 2 km
Voor jongens en meisjes in de categorieën:
- 13 jaar
- 14-15 jaar
Deze afstand is perfect voor jonge talenten die hun uithoudingsvermogen willen laten zien.

The Oldenburger Fritom LutjeRUN is the official kick-off of the RUN weekend. The energy at the athletics track can be felt every year: parents along the track, music, enthusiastic volunteers and children proudly reaching the finish. It is a safe, clear and motivating environment where young runners are introduced to running in a way that suits their age.
In the anniversary year 2026, the Oldenburger Fritom LutjeRUN will be given an extra festive touch. This gives the event not only a sporty, but also a festive start!
