in 2025 with the MARATHON RUN!
The Marathon fits in well with the organization of the RUN and has already been run a few times around 2003. There has been a lot of demand for the Marathon at the RUN and in 2025 it will be time. A beautiful solution in the course ensures the total length of 42.195 km.
100 km Ultra with the Dutch Championship
The RUN is the oldest ultra run in the Netherlands. It is a 100 km road race, which has also earned its spurs internationally.
This year too we hope for many international athletes. The competition has been held in principle on the second Saturday of September since 1976. Since 1995, the solo run has also been part of the official Dutch 100 km Championship.
50 km Ultra, from 2024 with the Dutch Championship!
In addition to the 100 km, a distance of 50 km can also be competed over. Here too, there are different categories in which to compete. For example, the Oldambtbokaal is awarded to the fastest man and the fastest woman from the municipality of Oldambt. International athletes have been finding their way to the RUN for many years and since 2024 it has also been considered the Dutch Championship for Dutch athletes.
10x10 Relay
In addition to the solo run over 100 km, this distance can also be covered in relay form. The relay teams leave half an hour later than the solo runners. Each team must change after each lap of 10 km. There are various categories for which one can register for the relay team competition.
10x10 Relay Municipalities National Championship
The National Championship of the Netherlands for all municipalities in the Netherlands is part of the 10x10 km relay and has been held since 2024. Now the 2nd time and we hope that many municipalities will participate!
LutjeRUN-Oldenburger Fritom
For the children there is the LutjeRUN. Since 2019 this has been held on Friday evenings. The central point for this run is the AV Aquilo Athletics Track. In 2024, approximately 400 young athletes participated. It is run in age categories. Participation from 4 years.
WandelRUN -Stötefalk Lampe
Nowadays, participants in the RUN can choose to go walking in addition to running. Around 250 walkers participate every year. The start of the WandelRUN is at the Mr. DU Stikkerlaan at the sports hall. The routes of 10 - 20 and 30 km all go through the beautiful area of Oldambt.
The After RUN
2024, the introduction of The After RUN.
This run marks the conclusion of the 48th edition of the RUN. The After RUN is an individual run of 5 km, which starts at 5 p.m. It will conclude a long and sporty day on Saturday 13 September.
The 5 km run will be held on half of the existing 10 km course. Registration for this new event is now open, with a limit of 200 participants. The minimum age for participation is 13 years on the day of the race, 13 September 2025.
Depending on the number of registrations, there will be group starts.
Information and registration
Interested parties can register for The After RUN from 1 March 2025. Given the popularity of the RUN events, it is recommended not to wait too long to register, as there are only 200 places available.
